Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 7, 2026

At VEC, LLC. ("Laand", "we", "us", or "our"), we are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy comprehensively details how we collect, process, share, and safeguard your information when you interact with our website, app/web product, browser extensions, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, you explicitly consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. The Headlines

To ensure transparency, here is a summary of our core data practices.

  • We collect contact details, professional profiles, and platform usage data to deliver our Services.
  • Your user profile is created when you upload your existing resumes and manually add profile data such as education, certifications, publications, etc., and add details of your completed courses/certifications and projects.
  • We utilize third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) solely to provide our Services; we never sell your personal data or use it to train underlying foundational models.
  • You maintain total control over your data, including a 100% delete button located in your account settings that permanently erases all your information.

2. Who We Are

Data Controller: VEC, LLC. is the "data controller" for all the personal data collected on the platform, meaning we determine the purposes and means of processing your personal data.

3. What Data We Collect

We collect distinct categories of data depending on your interaction with the platform:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: We collect your first name, last name, email address, and account password during registration.
  • Profile and Professional Data: We generate your user profile and database entry when you upload your resumes and manually add profile data such as education, certifications, publications, etc., and add details of your completed courses/certifications and projects.
  • B2B Employer Data: Business users when initiating Talent Hunts add their open roles and submit target milestones, business problems, and operational requirements to facilitate candidate matching.
  • Financial and Payment Data: When purchasing Job Application Kit (JAK) credits, which at the time of this updated Privacy Policy, are priced at $19 for 3 credits or $79 for 15 credits, your payment is processed by our third-party provider, Stripe. We also collect necessary financial data from business users to hold and disburse escrow micro-stipends for test projects. We do not store full credit card details on our servers.
  • Direct Communications: Any information provided when contacting our support team, including email contents and attachments.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Platform Usage Data: We track interactions with the Services, including job URLs submitted for analysis, features accessed, and time spent on the platform.
  • Device and Technical Data: Our servers automatically record your IP address, browser type, operating system, and diagnostic data.
  • Cookies and Analytics: We utilize cookies and analytics tools to understand site usage, maintain sessions, and improve the platform. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may impact platform functionality.

4. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal and professional data strictly for the following operational purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To analyze job requirements against your profile data, calculate fit scores, and generate application assets such as Job Application Kits (JAKs), Job Application Microsites (JAMs), and PitchJAMs.
  • B2B Talent Matching: To match business entities with highly vetted candidates based entirely on the completed projects and proof of work stored in user profiles.
  • Transaction Processing: To manage your credit balances and facilitate the secure transfer of escrow stipends between companies and talent.
  • Platform Security: To detect, prevent, and mitigate fraudulent activities, security breaches, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

Under applicable data protection laws, we rely on the following lawful bases to process your data:

  • Contractual Obligations: Processing necessary to provide you with access to the platform and deliver our core Services.
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing required to operate our business, optimize the platform, and facilitate talent matching, provided these interests do not override your fundamental rights.
  • Consent: Where required, we will obtain your explicit consent before processing specific types of data.
  • Legal Compliance: Processing necessary to comply with our legal, regulatory, or auditing obligations.

6. Artificial Intelligence & Automated Processing

Our Services rely on third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze job descriptions, evaluate profile data, and generate tailored application assets. When you submit data for analysis, it is securely transmitted to these external providers. We enforce strict contractual agreements explicitly prohibiting these providers from retaining your personal data or using it to train their models. Decisions regarding hiring and outreach are ultimately made by human users, not our AI systems.

7. How We Share Your Information

We strictly prohibit the sale of your personal data. Your information is only shared under the following conditions:

  • With Employers (B2B Partners): If you accept an escrow-backed micro-project, we will share your profile data, completed projects, and submitted solutions directly with the hiring company.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We securely share data with essential vendors, including payment processors, cloud hosting services, and AI model providers.
  • Legal and Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose personal data to law enforcement or government regulators if required to comply with a legal obligation or protect our rights.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as your account remains active. For data we are legally or commercially required to retain (e.g., business records for audit purposes), we will keep it for a maximum of 2 years.

The 100% Deletion Guarantee: You maintain absolute control over your digital footprint on our platform. We provide a dedicated, 100% delete button located directly on your account's Profile settings page. Initiating this action will instantly and permanently delete your account, your profile, all uploaded resumes, all manually added projects, and all associated personal data from our active databases.
